Rytuał pielęgnacji: jak łączyć krem, serum i olejek

Skincare ritual: how to combine cream, serum and oil

The effectiveness of skincare depends not only on the quality of the products but also on the order in which we apply them. The rule is simple: from the lightest to the heaviest consistency, so that each layer can absorb before we apply the next one.

Step 1 — Cleansing. The starting point of every ritual. Clean skin better absorbs subsequent products, and their active ingredients can work without hindrance.

Step 2 — Serum. The lightest consistency, the highest concentration of active ingredients. Serum is applied first, to slightly damp skin, gently patting — never rubbing.

Step 3 — Cream. It seals and "locks in" what the serum has provided, while moisturizing and building the skin's protective barrier. This layer protects against water loss and external factors.

Step 4 — Oil. Counterintuitively, oil doesn't always have to be first. If it has an occlusive (sealing) effect, we apply it as the last step — it creates a layer on the skin's surface that prevents water evaporation and "locks in" everything we've applied before.

It's also worth remembering that sometimes less is more. Applying too many products at once can burden the skin and weaken the effect of each one. A ritual built from a few well-chosen, high-quality products usually works better than an extensive, multi-step routine.

The VELOURÉ collection was designed so that individual products complement each other — creating a coherent, easy-to-use daily skincare ritual.
